Her Excellency, Avasarala Empty Her Excellency, Avasarala

Thu Jan 20, 2022 1:29 am
Avasarala insists on using her formal diplomatic title, even though she seethes at the smirks and eye rolls she receives after introducing herself as “Her Excellency” in these foreign, provincial backwaters. Ava fled her work and escaped the palace in Heian-kyō during the great shogun wars. Fearing that the rise of the samurai will mean the end of her family’s aristocratic power, she left to learn from their military brilliance. But, the shogunate were more dedicated to the patriarchy than even the royal court! Instead of suffering their jeers and propositions, Ava went abroad to learn from more progressive sword wielders. She is now gaining mastery at the blade, but hasn’t forgotten the continuing threat to her true way of life. Home feels so far away that it may as well be the moon. For now, Ava is rubbing elbows on sticky bartops rather than with well dressed heads of state.

Her Excellency, Avasarala Empty Re: Her Excellency, Avasarala

You have a tiara that was passed down to you by your parents that you were able to bring with you when you fled the palace.

This tiara has been used in court for generations to communicate with peoples from other places. You can use the tiara to understand languages you wouldn't otherwise know. But, wearing it does kind of make you look like an asshole. Who goes around wearing a tiara?

The tiara contains two charges. Expend a charge while wearing the tiara to cast the Comprehend Languages spell.

The tiara regains one charge at the end of a long rest.

((This item has been added to your DnDBeyond character sheet))

Finally, you may purchase up to 100 gold worth of basic gear (basic gear may be found in the player's handbook). Any gold, of the 100 gold, not spent in this way will be lost.
